The Neilson Hays Library, a stunning example of neoclassical Italian architecture, houses a library of 20,00O volumes covering a wide range of genres ranging from fiction to non-fiction as well as magazines and newspapers. Many distinctly beautiful places of worship such as Wat Hua Lamphong (Buddhist royal temple), Chiao Eng Biao Shrine (Chinese), Saint Louis Church (Catholic), Christ Church (Protestant) and Sri Maha Mariam- man Temple (Hindu) still stand today as testament to the area’s role as a crossroads for communities of various ethnicities and beliefs to flourish.
