Dusit Central Park, the landmark mixed-use project being developed in the heart of Bangkok by Dusit International and Central Pattana Public Company Limited (CPN) has confirmed that the project will include as part of its green offerings a 7 Rai (11,200 sq m) Roof Park for public use, and a project-wide contemporary design that respects the area’s heritage while bringing something new and unique to Bangkok.
Designed by Dragon Company Limited, A Thai-based company established by Architects 49 International Limited and OMA Asia Hong Kong Limited, the Dusit Central Park project occupies 23 rai (440,000 sq.m) of prime real estate on the corner of Silom and Rama IV Roads, opposite the vast expanse of Lumpini Park.
Developed under the concept ‘Here for Bangkok,’ the project aims to create a new way to live the metropolis life and bring Bangkok to another level as one of the world’s best cities. Key amongst its offerings will be a 69-storey, 389-key private residential tower offering luxury and high-end living in two distinct sections – Dusit Residences and Dusit Parkside – a state-of-the-art office tower (Central Park Offices, set over 45-storeys and spanning 90,000 sq.m), a high-end shopping complex (Central Park, connected to the offices and set partially underground with direct MRT access), and a distinctive reimagining of Dusit Thani Bangkok hotel, Dusit’s iconic flagship property, which formerly stood on the site as a symbol of gracious Thai hospitality for almost 50 years.
Offering easy access to both the MRT and BTS mass transit systems, at Silom and Sala Daeng Stations respectively, and positioned at the intersection of four neighbourhoods – namely Ratchaprasong, Charoenkrung, Sukhumvit, and Yaowarat.
To translate these concepts into the project, Dragon Company Limited has carefully designed the masterplan for the four buildings so that each offers unobstructed views of Lumpini Park while ensuring that easy access to healthy, green living experiences connects them all.
The new Dusit Thani Bangkok, like its predecessor, will feature a sleek triangular design, this time positioned so that each of its 259 spacious guest rooms (down from the original structure’s 510 rooms, while standing taller at 39 storeys) offers vistas of the park.
The exclusive Dusit Residences and Dusit Parkside will also be angled to make the most out of their elevated, prime location to bring green, scenic perspectives to residents in their living rooms, bedrooms and from their spacious balconies.
Guests, residents and the general public will also enjoy access to the aforementioned large Roof Park, expertly placed atop the low-rise, semi-underground Central Park shopping complex, in the centre of the project. Ascending from the fourth floor of the shopping complex and set over three levels, the Roof Park will provide space for running, cycling and other exercise activities. It will also host arts and music events as well as other meaningful experiences. The natural horizon will blend seamlessly with the view of Lumpini Park.
Alongside its green credentials, the project is set to provide the ultimate in connectivity – both in terms of digital and local transport infrastructure. The project’s innovative features have also been designed to maintain a sense of local heritage. Reflecting the original Dusit Thani Bangkok’s legacy as once the tallest, grandest hotel in the city, for example, the new version of the hotel will carefully incorporate three key features of the original landmark property – namely the distinctive lobby, the elegant Napalai Ballroom, and the iconic golden spire, all reimagined in contemporary fashion while recognising the value of what’s gone before. “Every element of the Dusit Central Park project has been designed to help create new urban lifestyles while respecting and elevating the area’s rich heritage for hospitality, commerce and green living,” said Somkiat Lo-Chindapong, Deputy Managing Director, A49. “In line with the four core pillars of the concept, Here for Bangkok, the challenge was to create four buildings which achieve their individual purposes – such as maximum comfort and absolute privacy for the residential tower; convenience and luxury for the hotel; ease of access for the offices; and maximum connectivity for the shopping complex – while bringing sustainable value to the area through green design and amplifying land use for the public. “By positioning each building to face Lumpini Park, designing each space for maximum efficiency, reflecting the rich value of the past in a way that suits the present context, and offering a large green space at the heart of the project, we believe our design achieves these aims and will help to put the destination on the map as a new icon of Bangkok – one which redefines luxury, modernity, and cultural and artistic beauty to become a top attraction for local and international visitors alike. With residences offering direct access to everything the complex has to offer, while still delivering the utmost in privacy, we believe Dusit Central Park will be a highly desirable place to live too.” For more information about Dusit Central Park and its various offerings, please visit dusitcentralpark.com and/or www.facebook.com/dusitcentralpark and the Instagram account @dusitcentralpark.
